Pedagogical Support
Pedagogical support deals with the issues that affect teachers
while they are learning to use new technologies in professional
development programs and when they implement these technologies
into their classes. Institutional supports such as administrative
encouragement and funding can encourage technology adoption. Attitudes
toward technology and its uses also help determine what technologies
and strategies are employed.

While you, as principal, should provide pedagogical support for your
staff, consider sharing the load with teachers on your faculty who can
act as peer mentors or coaches. Your support might best be expressed
through arranging time for joint planning or sharing sessions among
teachers.
Knowing they have your support encourages teachers to continue
with integration despite their frustrations with technology troubles.
A good start is to incorporate support issues in planning. Larry Anderson
lists the following points to consider:
- Financial support to purchase hardware and software
- Financial support for the infrastructure
- Training for faculty and staff members
- Incentives for participation in training programs
- Elimination of teachers routine tasks to make time to
help peers and students
- Technical support to maximize the use of the hardware and software
- Consultation and advice on safety and related legal issues
